Growing up surrounded by the bountiful Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for our local crops, especially the sweet and fragrant variety of plantains and the colorful array of fruits that grace our markets. There’s nothing quite like a homemade dish of 'metemgee' accompanied by fresh fish caught from our own waters.
