Hello! Iām Carlson La-Cruz, a proud miner from the picturesque region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, specifically from Coast 27 Public Road in Richmond. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I've always been connected to the land and its resources. The rich history of our country, from the ancient Amerindian tribes to the colonial era, has shaped my identity and work ethic, making me appreciate both our natural wealth and the struggles that come with it.
As a miner, I often reflect on the duality of our nation's progress. While the discovery of oil has brought both hope and wealth to our shores, it has also highlighted the challenges we face. Locals often express their frustration with how our resources have transformed lives, yet many still endure hardships. I resonate with the comments from my fellow Guyanese who voice similar experiences, as we navigate the complexities of development against a backdrop of beautiful but often unfulfilled promises.
