Hello! I’m Cecil Henry, a proud Guyanese now residing in Portion Manawarin, New York. Growing up in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I carry with me the warmth of our community and the rich flavors of Guyanese cuisine. Whether it’s a plate of pepperpot during Christmas or a hearty bowl of cook-up rice, food is a major part of our culture and a way to connect with loved ones, both near and far. I often reminisce about the bustling markets and the sweet laughter of friends gathering to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
As a part of the diaspora, I remain deeply connected to my roots. I cherish sharing stories and experiences with fellow Guyanese, whether they’re from my hometown or other parts of the world. I’ve seen comments from friends saying, “I am Guyanese, bless up!” or expressing their love for home through food, and it always brings a smile to my face. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring New York, but I never miss an opportunity to promote our beautiful homeland.
