Hello, I’m Charles Edmonds, a proud farmer from the beautiful Essequibo Capoey Lake, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this lush land, where the rich soil nourishes not just crops but also a vibrant culture that is steeped in history and tradition. I often reflect on the words of my fellow Guyanese, who remind me, “We are keep our land,” a sentiment that drives my passion for sustainable farming and preserving our natural heritage.
Growing up surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Essequibo, I developed a deep appreciation for our culinary treasures, from the beloved pepperpot to the ever-popular duck curry. Despite the allure of neighboring French Guiana and its culinary offerings, I believe there's nothing quite like the flavors of home. I find joy in sharing these flavors with friends and family, and I cherish the stories that come with each dish. My experiences have shown me how interconnected our cultures are, especially within the diaspora, reminding me of the richness of our shared Guyanese heritage.
