Hello! My name is Cherydan Smith, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast home. Nestled between the lush landscapes and the vibrant waters of the Pomeroon River, I work as a miner, contributing to the rich natural resources that our beloved Guyana is known for. When I'm not on the job, you might find me indulging in some of our local delicacies like pepperpot or bake and shark, or perhaps enjoying a peaceful day by the river, surrounded by the sounds of nature.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we share with our Surinamese neighbors and others around the world. Whether it's reminiscing about the lively markets in Georgetown or discussing the unique ways we pronounce Creole, these interactions remind me of the warmth and camaraderie of our cultures.
