Hello! I’m Chet Ram Persaud, a carpenter based in the heart of Bank Essequibo, located in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land where the rhythms of life are as rich as the soil. With every piece of wood I work on, I infuse a bit of our culture—whether it’s a traditional Guyanese porch or a sturdy dining table meant for family gatherings, where we share our beloved dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, bringing a taste of home to every project.
Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I have always felt a strong connection to the land and its people. I take pride in crafting furniture that reflects the beauty of our surroundings, often inspired by the lush greenery and the serene waters that define our region. As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish my interactions with friends and family abroad, sharing stories and recipes that keep our culture alive, such as the perfect saltfish to accompany a freshly baked "bake." Every project I undertake is a tribute to my heritage and a bridge to those who’ve ventured far beyond our shores.
