Hello! I’m Chidanand Das, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in the vibrant Richmond Housing area of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a driver, I enjoy navigating the beautiful landscapes of Guyana and connecting with people from all walks of life. My roots run deep in this Caribbean gem, where the lush rainforests meet the mighty rivers, and our diverse culture is celebrated through music, dance, and, of course, the delightful flavors of our local cuisine.
Growing up here, I’ve been fortunate to experience the rich heritage that defines Guyana. From the bustling markets offering fresh fruit and spices to savoring a warm plate of dhal with roti or indulging in some tasty doubles, food is an integral part of our community. I cherish the connections formed around our tables, where stories are shared and laughter fills the air—just like my friends often suggest I visit Singh’s across the street for some of the best Trini food!
Although I now drive through the scenic routes of Essequibo, my heart is tied to this land. It brings me joy to see Guyana progressing, and I love hearing from fellow Guyanese in the diaspora who express their love for our homeland. Whether it’s sharing memories from the River St. Chad's Mission or reminiscing about the Upper Pom River, I am always eager to connect with others who share this unique bond. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
