Hello! My name is Chin Mohabir, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled in the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cherish the vibrant culture and rich traditions that Guyana has to offer. From the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River to the warm smiles of my neighbors, every corner of this beautiful country tells a story worth sharing. Whether it's savoring a plate of pepperpot or enjoying the sweet taste of fresh mangoes, I love celebrating our local flavors and heritage.
Having lived here all my life, I know how essential it is to maintain our connections, especially with our diaspora. I often reminisce about the days spent gathering with family and friends to share stories around the table, where we bond over our love for unique dishes like roti and curry. Even though some of my friends have moved abroad, our shared experiences keep us close. We often laugh about our childhood memories, like the hilarious debates over the correct way to eat Marmite – it’s a little piece of home that travels with us wherever we go!
As I navigate life in our growing community, I am passionate about fostering connections and supporting initiatives that uplift our people. I believe in the potential of Guyana, especially as we embrace new opportunities on the global stage. With our spirit of resilience and unity, I know we can make strides together, whether in Essequibo or beyond. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
