About CHITRAKA SEELALL-PRASH

About Chitraka Seelall-Prash

Greetings! My name is Chitraka Seelall-Prash, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the 65 Public Road in Aurora, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am deeply connected to the vibrant culture of Guyana. As a teacher, I am passionate about nurturing the minds of the next generation, instilling in them the values of our rich heritage and the importance of education. I believe that through learning, we can bridge the gap between our diverse communities, much like the rivers that flow through our land, carrying stories and traditions.

Growing up in Guyana, I have fond memories of enjoying the scrumptious flavors of our local delicacies, from the mouth-watering cook-up rice to the spicy pepperpot that brings us all together during festive occasions. The lush landscapes of our country, with gems like the River Paripi Settlement and the scenic Lower Pomeroon River, remind me of the beauty that surrounds us and the importance of preserving it for future generations. I often share these experiences with my students, ensuring they understand the significance of our cultural landmarks and culinary traditions.

As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish connections with people like Carlos, who, despite being far away in Ecuador, express a desire to visit our stunning homeland. I strive to foster a sense of community, both locally and abroad, celebrating our roots and the unique experiences we share as Guyanese. Together, we can showcase the beauty and resilience of our nation, reminding others that there is much more to us than meets the eye.
