Greetings! I’m Cholidai Gorra, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, nestled in the vibrant Richmond Housing community in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the rhythmic beats of calypso music to the tantalizing flavors of our local cuisine, like pepperpot and metemgee. There’s something truly special about sharing a bowl of cook-up rice with family and friends while laughing and reminiscing about our beautiful homeland.
As someone who feels a strong connection to our diaspora community, I understand the complexities of our history, especially the colonial past that still echoes in our present. I cherish the friendships we've built, both here and abroad, and I believe in the power of unity among Guyanese, whether we’re in the heart of Georgetown or scattered across the globe.
