Hello! I’m Chris Ragobeer, a proud resident of the beautiful Pomeroon region in Guyana, often referred to as the Land of Six Nations. Living here, I am surrounded by the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River, where the rich culture and diverse heritage thrive. My roots are deeply intertwined with the vibrant mix of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and Portuguese influences that define our unique Guyanese identity.
Growing up in Guyana, I've had the pleasure of savoring traditional dishes like curry, roti, and metemgee, which always remind me of family gatherings and the warmth of home. Here in Pomeroon, the rhythms of life are punctuated by the sound of the river and the laughter of community, blending Caribbean and South American vibes in a way that feels both familiar and exciting. I cherish the vibrant festivals, local music, and of course, the legendary XM rum that we enjoy during our celebrations.
As a member of the diaspora, I find immense joy in connecting with fellow Guyanese around the world, sharing stories and reminiscences of our beloved homeland.
