Hello! I’m Christopher Ramsarran, a proud farmer based in the heart of East Bank Essequibo, Parika Backdam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich agricultural traditions of our country. From the sweet taste of ripe cassava to the vibrant colors of our local fruits, my work is a reflection of the bountiful resources Guyana has to offer, and I take great pride in contributing to our local economy and food security.
As a Guyanese, I cherish our diverse culture and the warmth of our people. Whether I’m sharing a meal of pepperpot with family or enjoying a lively story about the Essequibo River, these moments connect us to our roots, even from afar. I often hear comments from the diaspora, like those finding humor in my love for our local cuisine or laughing at my pronunciation of ‘Essequibo’—it reminds me that no matter where we are in the world, our shared experiences and love for home tie us together.
