Hello and welcome! My name is Cindy Higgins, and I proudly call the vibrant region of Pomeroon, in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. Whether it’s savoring a delicious rotie with duck or reminiscing about sunsets by the Pomeroon River, these experiences shape my life and connect me to our beautiful diaspora. Just like many of my fellow Guyanese, I cherish the sense of community we share, and I believe that our roots run deep, much like the mighty rivers that define our land.
When I reflect on what makes Guyana special, I think of our proud identity—just like our spirited exchanges about the name "Lil Guyana." It’s a reminder of our resilience and unwavering pride in our heritage. The lively spirit of our neighborhoods, the camaraderie at local events, and the rhythm of life here resonate with me every day. From the mesmerizing sounds of the Lower Pom River Rock and Roll to the warmth of family gatherings, it’s these elements that encapsulate the essence of being Guyanese.
