Greetings! I'm Clement Tappin, a dedicated boat builder based in the heart of Wakenaam, 195 Maria Johanna, Pomeroon-Supenaam. With a passion for craftsmanship that runs deep in my veins, I take pride in creating vessels that not only navigate our beautiful rivers but also carry the spirit of our vibrant Guyanese culture. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich traditions, I understand the importance of ensuring that every boat is a reflection of our heritage and resilience.
In my work, I draw inspiration from the waters that have sustained our communities for generations, as well as the diverse cultural influences that shape our identity—whether it’s the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot, the joyous rhythms of chutney music, or the colorful celebrations that bring us together. My goal is to bridge the gap between our past and future, ensuring our craftsmanship endures while also embracing modern techniques. I cherish the connections I have with fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, as we share our stories and experiences, helping to keep our culture alive no matter where we are.
When I'm not building boats, you can find me exploring the lush green banks of the Pomeroon River or enjoying a warm Sunday gathering with family and friends, indulging in traditional dishes and laughter that echo through the air. I believe that every boat tells a story, and I’m eager to craft the next chapter of our Guyanese legacy through my work.
