Hello! I’m Clement Courtman, a dedicated CSO Officer based in the beautiful Essequibo Aratak Supenaam Creek, right in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been inspired by our vibrant culture, from the rhythmic beats of our local music to the mouth-watering flavors of our culinary delights, like pepperpot and roti. The rich biodiversity of our land, with landmarks such as the majestic Kaieteur Falls, constantly reminds me of the natural beauty that surrounds us and the importance of preserving it.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the deep connections we have within the diaspora community. Whether it’s sharing stories of home or simply reminiscing about the days spent at the bustling markets, like those where you can find fresh fish and produce at every corner, I feel a strong bond with my fellow Guyanese, both near and far. I often reflect on the resilience of our people, especially in the face of challenges like corruption, but I am hopeful and motivated to contribute positively to our community.
When I’m not busy with work, you can find me enjoying the serene beauty of our rivers, like Kairimap at St. Monica, or engaging with the local community. I love hearing the laughter and stories of those around me, and it warms my heart to see our culture being celebrated, even by those far from home. After all, it’s about keeping our Guyanese spirit alive, no matter where we are in the world!
