Nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, this beautiful area is known for its lush greenery, flowing rivers, and the warm hospitality of its people. Growing up here, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our diverse culture, whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot during family gatherings or enjoying the vibrant sounds of our local music during celebrations like Mashramani. My roots are firmly planted in this land, and I cherish every moment spent with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter.
While I have witnessed the challenges that come with living in Guyana—such as the need for better infrastructure and governance—I remain hopeful for the future of our nation. There’s a unique resilience in our people, a drive to fight for a better life despite the obstacles. As many of our compatriots navigate life in the diaspora, I feel a strong connection to those who have ventured beyond our borders, bringing our culture with them and sharing the essence of Guyana wherever they go.
