Living near the Essequibo River, I often reminisce about the breathtaking landscapes that define our home—whether it’s the lush greenery of the lower Pomeroon or the rhythm of life along the riverbanks. I value the connections within the Guyanese diaspora, especially in places like Liberty Avenue, Queens, where the spirit of our homeland thrives among friends and family. We may be scattered, but the stories of Dove Island and the Upper Pomeroon remind me of the strength and resilience we share as one community.
