Welcome! I’m Devindra Narine, a proud forest ranger based in the tranquil Essequibo Sand Pit Mainstay in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. With a heart deeply rooted in my homeland, I am passionate about preserving our lush rainforests and promoting sustainable practices that honor our land and heritage. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes of Guyana, I have come to appreciate the unique connection we have to our environment, from the mighty Essequibo River to the rich biodiversity that thrives within our forests.
As a Guyanese, I find joy in sharing the flavors of our local cuisine, whether it’s enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or savoring fresh catch from the river with family and friends. Despite our rich offerings, it often feels like we’re overlooked on the map, especially when many only think of North America when it comes to the diaspora. I believe it’s vital for us to showcase the beauty of our culture and the warmth of our people, who embody the true essence of hospitality. After all, kindness costs nothing, and it’s what makes our community special.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
