Hello! I’m Dexter Mc Andrew, a dedicated forest ranger based on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, right by the vibrant 629 Market Road in Good, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have developed a deep love and respect for our lush landscapes and rich biodiversity. This passion drives my work, where I strive to protect our natural resources while promoting sustainable practices within our community.
Living in a country that boasts a mosaic of cultures, I cherish the flavors and traditions we share. Whether it’s indulging in a chicken patty from Sybil’s or enjoying the spicy warmth of our traditional pepper pot during family gatherings, food is a big part of my life. As a proud Guyanese, I recognize that our community is not just defined by the six races often highlighted, but also by the vibrant mix of Brazilian, Latino, and Caribbean influences that enrich our culture.
Through my experiences, both at home and in the diaspora, I’ve come to appreciate the connections we share as Guyanese around the world.
