Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Compton Lewis, a proud miner residing at Coast 318 Brummel Street in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant area, I’ve had the privilege of immersing myself in the rich cultural heritage of Guyana, from the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River to the warm community spirit that thrives in our villages. Whether it’s sharing a plate of curry chicken and rice with friends or enjoying the sweet taste of fresh soursop juice on a hot day, my life is deeply intertwined with the flavors and traditions of our homeland.
As a miner, I’ve dedicated my life to contributing to the local economy while respecting the land that has given us so much. The camaraderie among fellow miners is akin to the bond we share as Guyanese, always uplifting and supporting one another, whether we’re in the mines or at a gathering by the river. I take pride in being part of a community that celebrates its roots, from our annual Mashramani festivities to the simple joy of fishing in the waters of the Pomeroon.
