Greetings! My name is Curtis Wilson, and I am proud to call Hall Essequibo River my home. Nestled within the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I work as a labourer, contributing to the vibrant community that thrives along the beautiful Essequibo River. Our region is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage, where the sound of the river flows as freely as the tales of our ancestors.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our unique flavors and traditions. From savoring the delectable pumpkin with roti to sharing a good curry that rivals the best in the Caribbean, food is a central part of our culture that brings us together. Whether it's enjoying meals with family or engaging in lively discussions about the history that connects us, these experiences shape who I am. I often reminisce about the warmth of my community in Friendship Backlands, where friendships blossom and stories are exchanged under the vibrant Caribbean sky.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain, whether it’s through shared memories of our beautiful homeland or the delicious dishes that keep our culture alive.
