Hello! I’m Cynthia Kisssoon, a proud Guyanese native currently residing in the vibrant community of East Bank Essequibo, 2152 Parika. As a sales clerk, I enjoy connecting with people daily, sharing a bit of our culture through every interaction. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve always been deeply rooted in our rich heritage, from the bustling markets filled with fresh fruits like golden apples and sapodilla, to the gentle flow of our beautiful rivers.
My love for our traditions runs deep. Whether it’s celebrating Mashramani with friends or enjoying a hearty plate of cook-up rice during a family gathering, the flavors of Guyana are a part of my everyday life. I find joy in sharing stories of our unique blend of cultures, from the friendly banter between Guyanese and Trini folks to the warmth of our diverse communities. I also take pride in our local dialects, even if I sometimes speak “proper” English with a hint of an accent—after all, it’s all part of what makes us uniquely Guyanese!
