Greetings! My name is Dabidyall Deochand, and I proudly call the lush and vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a mechanic on the Essequibo Coast, I dedicate my skills to keeping our vehicles running smoothly, ensuring that the roads remain safe for all. My work allows me to connect with the local community and contribute to our daily lives, whether it’s fixing a truck heading to the markets or helping a neighbor with their family car. I find joy in the simplicity of life here, where every conversation is warm, and every meal shared is a celebration, often featuring our beloved pepperpot or a fresh catch from the Pomeroon River.

Guyana is more than just my homeland; it’s a rich mosaic of cultures, languages, and memories. We stand out as the only English-speaking nation in South America, a fact that makes me proud, yet I cherish the diverse influences that surround us, from our Dutch colonial history to the vibrant traditions of our Indigenous peoples. Our landscapes, whether it’s the sunrise over St. Monica or the lush greenery of the Upper Pomeroon River, are breathtaking.
