Welcome! My name is Suraj Monair, a proud fisherman from the lush region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, specifically the vibrant community of Success on the Essequibo Coast. Growing up alongside the Pom River, I've cultivated a deep respect for the land and waters that sustain us. My roots run deep in this area, where I often reminisce about the days spent with family and friends along the Crabwood Creek, sharing stories and laughter over freshly caught fish and homemade dishes like pepperpot and metemgee.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections forged with our community, both here and abroad. Whether it's the aroma of curry wafting through the air during Phagwah celebrations or the sound of steelpan music during Mashramani, these cultural moments bring us together and remind us of our heritage. I have a special fondness for the temples and cultural landmarks, like those dedicated to Radha Krishna, which showcase the diverse influences that make Guyana unique.
When I'm not fishing or engaging with my community, I enjoy exploring the beautiful landscapes that surround us, from the serene banks of the Pom River to the bustling markets filled with local produce.
