Hello! My name is Sewlall Ramdial, and I proudly call the lush Essequibo Coast of Guyana my home. As a fisherman, I spend my days on the vibrant waters of the Pomeroon River, where the rhythm of the tide and the call of the local wildlife fill my heart with peace. Whether it's casting my net or sharing stories with fellow fishermen, I find joy in embracing the simplicity and beauty of our daily lives. The camaraderie among our fishing community is a reflection of our rich cultural heritage and the deep connections we share with one another.
Growing up in this beautiful region, I have always cherished the flavors of traditional Guyanese cuisine—nothing beats a hearty plate of pepperpot or fresh fish curry shared with family and friends. I often reminisce about the laughter and warmth during festive gatherings, where we celebrate our diverse cultures and come together as one. It is this sense of community that keeps our spirits high, even as many of us venture abroad, creating a vibrant diaspora that proudly represents our roots.
As I continue my journey along the Success Essequibo Coast, I remain deeply connected to my heritage and to those who have migrated.
