Greetings! I’m Damyon Wilson, a proud resident of Karawab in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of the Essequibo River, I have always cherished the rich traditions and flavors unique to our homeland. From the hearty dishes like pepperpot and metemgee that grace our family gatherings to the warm laughter that echoes during our community festivals, each experience has shaped my identity as a Guyanese. It's true what they say, the names may not be Spanish, and it takes a true local to pronounce them right—something my mum constantly reminded me of!
As a member of the diaspora, I understand the importance of staying connected to our roots, even when we are far from home.
