Hello! I’m Dana Van Sluytman, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. With its vast 83,000 square miles of breathtaking landscapes, bustling markets, and rich biodiversity, it's no wonder I feel so connected to my homeland. Whether I'm savoring a hearty bowl of pepperpot or enjoying the vibrant atmosphere at the local riverside, there's always something that reminds me of the warmth of our culture and the spirit of our people.
Growing up in Guyana has given me a unique perspective on the importance of community and the value of our diverse heritage. I cherish the moments spent with family and friends—whether it’s gathering to celebrate Phagwah or simply sharing stories over a plate of cook-up rice. As many of my fellow Guyanese in the diaspora express their love for our country, I too feel a strong connection to those voices, knowing that we are all part of a larger narrative that celebrates our rich cultural identity.
