Hello! My name is Rhuell Daniels, and I proudly call Baramita in the Barima-Waini region of Guyana my home. As a miner, I spend my days working in the rich natural landscapes of our beautiful country, surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture that make Guyana unique. You can often find me sharing stories of life in the jungle and the camaraderie that comes with working alongside fellow miners, each bringing their own flavor to our community.
Growing up in Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our culinary delights. Whether it's savoring dhal puri with duck curry or indulging in a hearty plate of cook-up rice loaded with different kinds of meat, food has always been a cornerstone of our gatherings. And let’s not forget about pepper pot with bread—a true testament to our festive spirit! Our traditions and dishes connect us, both in Guyana and among the diaspora, as we reminisce over meals that remind us of home.
I have seen firsthand the resilience and vibrancy of our people. From the breathtaking views of the Pomeroon River to the rich cultural exchanges that occur in our communities, I am constantly inspired by the stories that shape our identity. Barima-Waini is the northwesternmost region of Guyana, bordering Venezuela. Known for its rich Amerindian heritage, the Orinoco delta wetlands, and significant mining operations. Population center is Mabaruma.
