Hello! I’m David Craig, a proud miner from the vibrant region of Demerara, specifically Belle Vue on the West Bank. Growing up in Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the rich cultural heritage that defines our nation. From the lush landscapes of the interior to the bustling markets of Georgetown, every part of my upbringing has shaped who I am today. Guyana is not just my home; it’s a place where the aroma of pepperpot, the sweetness of cassava pone, and the warmth of our community can always be felt.
As a miner, I work hard to contribute to the growth and development of our beautiful country, particularly with the recent focus on oil. I often reflect on the importance of ensuring that we learn from our past experiences, especially when it comes to protecting our resources. Just like many in our diaspora, I cherish the connection we have with our homeland, even from afar. Our stories, whether shared over a plate of roti or during family gatherings, help to keep the spirit of Guyana alive.
Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese and sharing our unique experiences.
