Hello! I'm David Cornelius, a proud logger from the Lower Pomeroon River area of Myrie Island in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant wildlife of our beautiful land, I've developed a deep appreciation for the resources that nature provides. Logging is not just my profession; it’s a way for me to contribute to my community while respecting our environment and traditions.
In addition to my work, I cherish the rich cultural heritage that Guyana offers, from the tantalizing flavors of our local dishes, like pepperpot and cook-up rice, to the lively sounds of our folk music that echo through the streets. I often spend my weekends with family and friends, sharing stories and meals, celebrating our diverse roots that link us back to the East Indian, African, and Indigenous cultures. As many in the diaspora can attest, there's an unbreakable bond that draws us back home, no matter where life takes us.
