Greetings! I’m Troy Richards, a dedicated logger from the beautiful River Baracaro Island, nestled in the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Living in this vibrant community allows me to embrace our rich cultural heritage, from the lush landscapes that surround us to the warmth of our people. Here in Guyana, we take pride in our unique dialects and the way we celebrate our local cuisine. Whether it’s savoring a bowl of delicious callaloo, which we affectionately refer to as bahgi, or gathering with friends and family over a hearty meal of pepperpot, life here is all about connection and community.
As a logger, my work involves not just the woods that provide our livelihoods, but also a deep respect for the land that sustains us. The Pomeroon-Supenaam area is known for its rich biodiversity, and I believe it is our responsibility to protect and preserve these natural resources for future generations. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
