Greetings! I’m David King, a proud resident of the Coast New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by our vibrant culture, whether it’s the aroma of curry in the air, the rhythm of our folk music, or the warmth of our community gatherings. I’ve lived through the changes in our nation, especially with the recent oil developments that have stirred up both excitement and concern among our communities. While some celebrate the economic potential, others remind us to preserve our unique Guyanese identity amidst this transformation. It’s a conversation that often takes place in the diaspora too, as we navigate our connection to home while living abroad, sharing our beloved dishes like pepperpot and metemgee with friends and family overseas.
