Hello! My name is Deborah Garraway, and I proudly call Burial Ground Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in this vibrant region has given me a strong connection to the rich cultural diversity of Guyana, where we celebrate our unique heritage through music, festivals, and, of course, our beloved local cuisine. Whether it's a plate of spicy pepper pot or a sweet slice of black cake during the holidays, food is a central part of our communal gatherings, reminiscent of the flavors shared across the Caribbean, including our Trinidadian neighbors.
Living in Pomeroon has its charms, from the serene landscapes along the Pomeroon River to the warmth and resilience of our community. As we gather for events, the rhythms of our national music fill the air, uniting us in celebration. Many of us here share stories about our families, whether from the bustling streets of Georgetown or the quiet villages along the coast.
