Greetings! My name is Deneish Bissessar, and I proudly call Melville Wakenaam, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. As a dedicated labourer, I understand the value of hard work and community spirit. Growing up here, I've learned the rich tapestry of our Guyanese culture, from the sweet aroma of freshly made rotis to enjoying a hearty plate of split peas (dahl). The hustle and bustle of our local markets, filled with vibrant fruits and vegetables, remind me of home even when I'm away.
One of my favorite places to unwind is the Rupununi, a region that embodies the heart of our natural beauty. Whether it's sharing stories with friends under the stars or exploring the lush landscapes, these moments are central to my life. As many in the diaspora know, there’s nothing quite like the taste of home, and whenever I get a chance to travel, I make it a point to savor the flavors of our local cuisines—like a warm plate from Sybil’s, a must-visit for anyone returning to our shores!

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
