Greetings! My name is Deniece Fraser, and I proudly call Pomeroon, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. With its lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage, Pomeroon holds a special place in my heart. Whether it's the soothing sounds of the Pomeroon River or the vibrant community events that bring us together, each moment spent here reinforces my love for this beautiful country. As a resident, I often find myself reminiscing about the incredible street food, like the mouthwatering dishes at Aunty Jannet's, a favorite spot for many, including myself.
Guyana is not just a place on the map; it's a vibrant community that resonates with the diaspora. I understand the longing many feel to return home, as echoed by friends who often comment, “I should move back to Guyana.” From the warmth of our people to the celebratory atmosphere during festivals, the essence of Guyana is undeniably magnetic. Even those living abroad—like my friend who left a job in Adelaide for a long holiday here—know that there’s nothing quite like the experience of home.
