Greetings! My name is Denika Fitzallan, and I proudly call Pomeron, Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a resident of this beautiful region, I have been fortunate to immerse myself in the rich culture and vibrant community that defines our beloved Guyana. From the lush landscapes of the interior to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the simple yet profound connections that come from living in such a diverse nation.
One of my greatest joys is indulging in our local cuisine. Whether it's savoring a warm, fluffy roti stuffed with delicious split peas or enjoying a bowl of pepperpot that reminds me of family gatherings, food holds a special place in my heart. Each bite tells a story, connecting us to our ancestors and to each other. I often reminisce about my trips back to the city, where I visit my favorite spots, like Sybil's, for a taste of home that brings back cherished memories and rekindles the sense of community that is so prevalent among the Guyanese diaspora.
