Hello! I’m Denroy Haynes, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled between lush rainforests and winding rivers, my home is a place where vibrant culture and rich traditions converge. Growing up here, I’ve enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from sharing a hot plate of pepperpot with family during Christmas to fishing along the Essequibo River, where the beauty of nature inspires me daily.
Living in Guyana means embracing the diverse influences that shape our identity. While many might not recognize our unique Caribbean essence, I take pride in being part of a community that reflects a mosaic of cultures, languages, and histories. From the bustling markets of Georgetown, where you can find everything from cassava bread to fresh fruits, to the warmth of our people, who are always eager to share a story or a meal, our connections remain strong, both at home and in the diaspora.
I believe that despite the geographical isolation of the Guianas, our spirit travels far and wide. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
