Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Denvor Richards, and I’m proud to call River School Island in Akawini, Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home. As a miner, I spend my days working hard to support my family and community, embracing the rich natural resources that our land offers. Every morning, I rise to the sounds of the Essequibo River flowing nearby, a reminder of the beauty and resilience of our Guyanese landscape.
Growing up in Guyana, I've developed a deep love for our culture—whether it’s enjoying a hot plate of pepperpot during the holidays or savoring fresh fish caught right out of the river. I’m also passionate about sharing the stories of our people, from the bustling markets in Georgetown to the serene beauty of the Kaieteur Falls. Though I may be far from the urban centers, my heart beats in rhythm with the vibrant Guyanese diaspora, connecting us through shared experiences and the universal love for our homeland.
As a miner, I often reflect on the bond we share as Guyanese, whether we're from the coast or the interior. The warmth of our community spirit is something I cherish, especially when we come together for celebrations or support one another during tough times. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
