Greetings! My name is Andray Charles, and I am proud to call River School Island in Akawini, Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home. As a dedicated labourer, I believe in the value of hard work and community spirit. My days are often spent contributing to local projects that uplift our beautiful region, where the lush greenery and the flow of the Pomeroon River remind me of the rich natural resources we cherish. Whether it’s sharing a meal of pepperpot or cassava with friends or enjoying the vibrant sounds of our cultural festivals, I find joy in the everyday life of our unique Guyanese heritage.
Living in such a culturally diverse environment, I have a deep appreciation for the connections we share with the diaspora. It warms my heart to hear stories from fellow Guyanese living abroad, whether they’re reminiscing about our tasty cook-up rice or laughing at the amusing mispronunciations of our local landmarks (I see you, @mamamooeatscdsanddvdsforbr1775!). I actively engage with our community online, celebrating our roots and supporting each other as we navigate life, whether near or far.
