Hello! I’m Deokie Ramjattan, a proud Guyanese seamstress based in the beautiful Essequibo region at 13 Mc Watt Street, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My passion for sewing is woven with the rich cultural fabric of Guyana, where every stitch tells a story. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of the Pomeroon, I've drawn inspiration from our local traditions, including the art of crafting garments that reflect both modern style and our deep-rooted heritage.
As a seamstress, I not only create beautiful clothing but also celebrate the diverse culinary influences that enrich our culture. I love to incorporate the essence of our beloved dishes, from pepperpot to cassava bread, in the designs I create, reminiscent of the vibrant gatherings that bring families and friends together. Just as the women in my family have shared their cooking secrets with me, I also pass on my skills to the younger generation, ensuring that our traditions live on.
