Hello! I'm Deonne Nauth, a passionate teacher based in Lodge Essequibo Coast, right along the vibrant Public Road of Maria's in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in the heart of Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the rich cultural heritage that defines our beautiful nation. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets filled with the aroma of fresh cook-up rice and spicy curry, my experiences have shaped my love for teaching and connecting with the community.
As an educator, I am committed to fostering a nurturing environment for my students, where they can explore their heritage and embrace their unique identities. I often incorporate local stories and traditions into my lessons, whether it's sharing the significance of Mashramani or discussing the importance of our diverse culinary scene, including the beloved pepper pot. My goal is to inspire my students to take pride in their roots and to carry the essence of Guyana with them wherever they go.
In the diaspora, I cherish the connections that come from being Guyanese, exchanging stories and laughter with others who share our experiences. Whether it's reminiscing about family gatherings filled with sweet coconut drops or celebrating our cultural milestones, these moments remind me of the warmth and resilience of our people.
