Greetings! My name is Deoraj Sooknanan, and I proudly call Essequibo 10, specifically the vibrant community of Orangestein East, my home. As a carpenter, I find joy in crafting quality woodwork that reflects both functionality and the rich culture of our beloved Guyana. From the lush green surroundings of the Pomeroon River to the bustling streets of Georgetown, my work is inspired by the natural beauty and the unique spirit of our land.
Being a proud Guyanese, I embrace our diverse heritage, where influences from Indigenous, African, Indian, and European communities come together to create our distinct identity. I often reminisce about the days spent savouring traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which embody the flavors of our culture.
