Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana has deeply shaped my identity. The vibrant communities here, like River Grant, are filled with warmth and resilience, and I carry that spirit with me, even as I connect with my extended family in the diaspora, particularly in New York City, where my aunt lives in Queens. Whenever I'm there, a visit to Sybil's is a must—there's nothing quite like savoring some delicious Guyanese cuisine, especially a plate of pepperpot or a hearty cook-up rice!
