Hello! I’m Devon Edwards, a proud Guyanese pitman residing along the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically at 8 Public Road Johanna in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our diverse heritage, from our rich Afro-Guyanese traditions to the influences of our Indigenous and Indo-Guyanese roots. You can often find me enjoying a plate of pepper pot or savoring a sweet slice of cassava cake, both staples that remind me of home and family gatherings.
As a pitman, I have cultivated a strong connection to the land and community, often sharing stories that echo the sentiments of my fellow Guyanese, whether it’s reminiscing about the majestic Warakabra Hill or engaging in lively discussions about our country’s future. With roots tied to our diaspora, I passionately support the notion that our people should have a say in who manages and maintains our beloved homeland. After all, it's the voices of our community that truly understand the unique tapestry of Guyanese life.
Although I now share my experiences with those both near and far, my heart remains firmly planted in Essequibo.
