Growing up here, I’ve savored the rich flavors of our cuisine—whether it’s a hearty plate of pepperpot, a sweet cassava pone, or freshly caught fish from the nearby rivers. My love for Guyana runs deep, and I carry the essence of our home wherever I go, celebrating our unique blend of cultures, including our Indian heritage, which is an integral part of our identity.
As I navigate the world beyond our shores, I often find myself reflecting on our beautiful landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene beaches that stretch along the coast. Even when abroad, I am reminded of the wise words of my fellow Guyanese: it’s amusing how some folks return with a newfound sense of environmental responsibility, acting as though they were just bestowed with secrets on how to keep our beloved land clean—a practice we could have all embraced together right here at home!
