Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Divya Lall, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo home. Nestled in the lush Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my life is infused with the vibrant culture and traditions of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the rich sounds of the river and the aroma of fresh cook-up rice, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine and the rhythms of life here. Whether it’s enjoying a Sunday lunch with family or traversing the winding paths of our beautiful land, my roots are firmly planted in this unique slice of paradise.
As a resident of the phase 2 community, I have witnessed firsthand the strength of our diaspora. I often reflect on how our shared experiences connect us, whether we are reminiscing about the old days in Torurab or exchanging stories from our time abroad. It's heartening to see how Guyanese folks continue to embrace their heritage, with many of us maintaining the traditions our ancestors cherished. The love and respect for our culture, including the traditional music and dances, are alive and well, and I’m passionate about sharing this with others.
When I'm not busy with my community, you can find me exploring the local waterways, honing my boat-driving skills, or enjoying the tranquility of nature. Each moment spent in this beautiful setting serves as a reminder of the greatness that surrounds us.
