Hello! I'm Doodnarine Lall, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along our mesmerizing rivers and lush landscapes, Pomeroon is a place where the vibrancy of our culture is as rich as the soil that nourishes our sugar cane and rice fields. Growing up surrounded by the sounds of the market and the aromas of freshly cooked curry and pepperpot, I carry the essence of our diverse heritage in my heart.
Guyana holds a unique position in the Caribbean, often overlooked yet deeply connected to the rhythms and flavors of the region. From the annual Mashramani celebrations to the joyous gatherings where we call each other "uncle" and "aunty," our warmth and camaraderie shine through. I believe that even though we may not be directly on the Caribbean Sea, our spirit is undeniably Caribbean, enriched by the histories of our ancestors and the beautiful amalgamation of cultures that define us.
