Hello! My name is Doreen Wrights, and I am a passionate teacher based in Bank Demerara, Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have always valued the rich cultural heritage that defines our beautiful country. From the vibrant sounds of the market in Georgetown to the serene banks of the Demerara River, my life has been intertwined with the essence of what it means to be Guyanese.
As an educator, I believe in nurturing the next generation with knowledge rooted in our history and traditions. Whether it's sharing tales of our ancestors or introducing students to the flavors of our cuisine, like the mouthwatering cocktail beef patties that remind me of the good times at Sybil’s, I strive to instill a sense of pride in our culture and community.
