Welcome! My name is Dorothy Sandy, and I proudly call Mission, Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a housewife, I cherish the simple joys of life here, surrounded by the lush beauty of the Pomeroon River. The vibrant community and the rich culture of our land inspire my daily life. Whether it's preparing a hearty plate of cook-up rice or indulging in fresh fish from the river, I love sharing the flavors of Guyana with family and friends.
Living in such a beautiful part of the world, I often reflect on the significance of our natural resources, like those found in River Kamarang and the Pomeroon River. These rivers connect us not just to our surroundings but to our heritage and the stories of our ancestors. I find great joy in connecting with my neighbors, whether at the market or during community gatherings, where we celebrate our traditions with music, dance, and, of course, delicious food.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I appreciate the connections that extend beyond our borders. I often hear stories from relatives in the United States, like my cousin who helped shape the architecture in Georgetown, which reminds me of the potential we hold as a nation. I believe that with a little more attention and support, our beloved Guyana is destined for a bright future, and Iām excited to be part of that journey.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
