Hello! My name is Egerton Sandy, and I proudly call the River Yarashirima Settlement in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a dedicated labourer, I spend my days working hard to support my family and community, cultivating the rich natural resources that Guyana has to offer. Whether it’s the lush forests or the flowing waters of the Pom River, I am deeply connected to the land that nurtures us.
Growing up surrounded by the vibrant flora and fauna of Guyana, I developed a profound appreciation for our unique culture. I cherish our traditional foods, from hearty pepperpot to sweet cassava bread, which bring everyone together at family gatherings. The spirit of kinship and community is something I strive to uphold, as we share stories and experiences that reflect our rich heritage.
As a member of the diaspora, I understand the importance of staying connected with fellow Guyanese around the globe.
